Happy Thanksgiving!!

Well everyone, I have just finished stalking all of your blogs and haven't seen any "after-math" posts!! Are you all still laying on the couch moaning about how much you ate?

We had a great Thanksgiving dinner over at my sister-in-laws house. We had enough food to feed a small army and between our three families, we almost had a small army!! 15 children all together. Levi  spent the whole time trying to tackle the two cousins that are his age. (He must have older brothers!!) Tommy, Bobby and the three other Kellogg boys, Haze, Jake and Jared spent the whole time out shooting their guns and sling shots. They were really having a good time. Guy hooked our pony up to his cart and drove cousins around for a little while, too. It was really a lot of fun. We stayed up too late visiting and Sherri and her family had to leave too soon. All the makings of a great holiday. Can't wait to do it again.

I would like to add a few of my "thankful fors":
I am thankful for my husband and what a wonderful support he is to me. He tries hard to be a good provider and takes his priesthood responsibilities very seriously.  I love him eternally.
I am thankful for my families. The one that I grew up with and the one I married in to. I am blessed to have great people to support and love me!
I am thankful for friends. This blogging thing has been a great blessing  to me. I love to keep in touch with all of my friends in all the places that I have lived. No matter where we all end up!
I am thankful for the knowledge of the gospel. For ward families. Priesthood blessings. Love from my Savior and Heavenly Father and the atonement. Without all of this, there would be nothing  to be thankful for.
Remember the reason for the season as we jump right into getting ready for Christmas.  Thank you all for sharing your hearts and homes with me this year.

Happy Thanksgiving!!

Twilight

Amanda and I took a night away from the guys and went to see Twilight. Amanda has been waiting for months to go. She has even been stalking the movie and Stefanie Meyers websites. ...We down loaded the song Bella's Lullaby. ....Read each one of the books AT LEAST twice ...all waiting for the day to arrive. Amanda LOVED it and couldn't get enough of EDWARD!!
I, on the other hand, was a little disappointed....I always get this way when a book is turned in to a movie.  Harry Potter and Bridge to Terribithia were the same. Even with all the technology and special effects, movie makers can never make a movie to match my imagination. And of course, Edward really didn't do much for me. He is supposed to look more like Guy!!! I am glad that we went, it was a great girls night out.  And really not a bad movie.  Maybe only one thumb. (as Siskel & Ebert would say)They really can't help it if they can't top my imagination!!
Bobby also went to see it. His girlfriend joined the book club at school and they read the book and then went to the movie. She talked Bobby into joining, reading and going to the movie. He didn't really like it either. Gave it only a 6.5. But, he was a good sport to do all that for a girl!!

Grandma

Hi Grandma!!
Mom told me that you were able to look at our blogs. I am so glad that technology works in such a wonderful way for us to enjoy.

For the first time in my life, I have to rake leaves!! I know that I said I loved fall, but not this part!! Our yard has several HUGE oak and hickory trees. We really enjoyed the shade they provided this summer. But now we have a TON of leaves on the ground. Guy and the boys had a good time for a little while. But now, we really have to get out there and work.

Random thoughts and pictures

Walking & a Dirty Face....that's Levi!!!
Future missionary pianists!!
I feel like I have been spending most of my time in the car this month. Chasing kids around the county. I have been crazy with my church calling too. We went from the Halloween party right into the primary sacrament meeting program. That will be this sunday, so with that over, we will move on to planning for next year. UGG!! No rest for the wicked. Out here, there aren't very many members and so the Lord has to do with what is here....too bad for Him, He tries to make the best out of what He has. I keep pluggin' along...doin' the best I can. Hope He fills in the blanks I leave behind!!
I am listening to Bleu's blog music while I am typing...so nice to hear it and relax. Thanks Bleu!! I am thankful that you share your talent with all of us. For Non-Mortensen family members, go to Bleu's Blog so you can hear and relax too!!

BLOG STORE

We started a blog store.

We have wanted to sell some of the great stuff that Guy makes for a while, but didn't know the best way to do it. This blogging stuff gave me the idea I needed to get us started.

Guy is really talented and loves to create things. He comes from a family that is full of talented artists. So check out the new blog and if you see something you would love to have, let me know and we will set you up!!

Happy Thanksgiving!!

Tonight I am waiting for Amanda to come home from her basketball game. I wanted to get the Thanksgiving holiday off to a good start, but I wasn't sure how. I have seen some blogs with a "Thankful For "post everyday. That would certainly be a good thing to do. And I am sure I could come up with lots to be thankful for. But, I really just want to share something that has really touched me this week. I have already sent this to many of you in an e-mail, so just skip it. I think the financial situation that Guy and I are in right now and the election tomorrow and things around us that want to tear at our families and testimonies, have made my feet dig in a little deeper and my courage grow a little stronger and definately hold on to my Savior and his mercies a lot tighter. I know...this is pretty deep for a blog....I just wanted to share this video 'cuz it helps to express my testimony also. http://deseretbook.com/video/view/5

I wish everyone a Happy Thanksgiving holiday and hope we all have time to count ALL of our blessings everyday.

Also for those of you who don't know, the music that is playing on my blog is from Twilight. Amanda and I are both HUGE fans!! It's pretty.
